Gawith's is a very small team consisting of just 32 people in total and many of us wear several hats as well as work across various departments. Below you will find an over-view of our tight-knit ‘family’. 

Managing Director

Rachel is Managing Director, but also Export Account Manager and involved in production planning as well as over-seeing HR and H&S requirements and taking the lead on any contractual or legal matters. 

Business Operations and Development Officer

Claire joined the company in 2020, being thrown into the deep end as the global pandemic gripped the world. Initially National Sales Manager and heading up the UK sales force, over the last couple of years she has taken on more of an overall management role and is heavily involved in production planning for both the UK and export, over-seeing the packing department and the office. 

Office Team (Including Export department)

Behind the scenes is a close-knit and experienced team who take care of everything from UK sales orders and exports to purchasing, logistics, design and finance. Working closely together, we make sure our customers receive the same high level of service every day.

• Magda – Business Development & Sales Support
  Magda looks after our UK customer accounts and key relationships, ensuring everything runs smoothly from order to delivery.
• Pam – UK Accounts & Credit Controller
  Pam manages UK customer accounts and payments, working closely with customers to keep accounts up to date.
• Inna – UK Order Processing & Export Support Coordinator
  Inna handles the day-to-day processing of UK orders and provides essential support to our export team.
• Wendy – Purchasing & Inventory Manager
  Wendy is responsible for purchasing, stock control and stock movements, as well as overseeing daily dispatch.
• Andrew – Finance Manager
  Andrew looks after all aspects of the company’s financial management and accounting.
• Teresa – Logistics & Supply Chain Manager
  Teresa organises all export shipments and imports, managing documentation and ensuring everything arrives where it should, on time.
• Natasha – Graphic Designer
  Natasha brings our brands to life, creating label designs, promotional artwork and supporting brand recognition across the business.

Sales Team

Our sales team is very much the face of the business. Callum, Martin and Stevie work closely with hundreds of tobacconists and wholesalers across the UK, building strong relationships, supporting customers and representing us at industry events.

General Production Team (including Snuff)

Our production team steam all our raw leaf, and then it is processed into either ribbon cut (both pipe and hand rolling) or into cakes for flake production. 

The team consists of Jon, Leone, Tom and Gary who are mostly involved in steaming, some cutting and then hot pressed cake/flake production. 

And Martin and Lee produce our Kendal range, the Auld Kendal RYO range and our cold pressed flake. Two of our longest serving staff members having been with Gawith's for over 40 years, starting off at the Lowther Street factory. 

Gary, who was with Samuel Gawiths before coming to Gawith Hoggarth & Co after we bought Sam's, is also involved in creating the snuff scents and Greg (from our Twist department) blends, packs and labels the snuff. 

Twist Team

There are a team of five constantly spinning our twist. Julie heads up the department and initially came to work for Gawiths when she was just … years old, spinning twist at the old Lowther Street factory. She then left to raise her family, re-joining us in 2022. Her sister Linda has been working for Gawiths in the twist department for over 35 years. 

Dot who has been with us for close to 40 years is sadly retiring soon, but is passing the mantel to our two newest spinners - Lisa and Kelsey. Both started off in the packing department before learning to pad and spin twist. 

Greg came to Gawith's from Samuel Gawiths, initially as part of the production team, then moved into packing and now looks after the steaming of leaf for twist as well as doing some padding and spinning. 

Packing Team

We currently have a team of 4, (sometimes 5 packers), headed up by Miguel who came to us in 2025. Carol has been with the company since 1989 and Glenis since 2010. Luke joined us in 2025 and splits his time between packing and dispatch, depending on where he is needed. And then Greg helps out from time to time. 

Track & Trace/Labelling

With the introduction of track and trace and more and more regulations with regard to packaging and traceability, it has been necessary to create a whole new department. This is now headed up by Conor, who ensures all labels are printed correctly and when needed for the packing department and also looks after the track and trace equipment and systems (as well as our general IT systems). He is aided by Tracy and Ian. And Kelsey pops in to lend a hand whenever required. 

Ian also palletises all our export orders and ensures that everything is ready to ship around the world and is a key member of the export team. 

Dispatch

We have just two guys ensuring that all orders are packed and sent out to all UK retailers and wholesale. Stephen and Owen ensure that the UK warehouse runs smoothly and orders get out the door. And when needed, Luke nips over to help.
