These include the J Cortes and Neos range from . The VCF family group embody the same heritage and family values which Gawith's hold dear. Vandermarliere Cigar Family is a third generation family-owned international cigar group with nearly a century of expertise in tobacco craftsmanship.

The company was founded in 1926 by Maurits Vandermarliere in the attic above his cigar shop in Moen, Belgium.  He soon outgrew this space and opened a small cigar production unit in a nearby village. Maurits and his wife, Angèle, had 8 children, and 4 of their sons would follow in their father's footsteps and join the family business (as well as a son-in-law). It was his youngest son, Guido, who came on board in 1965 and really grew the business. In 1975 and 1979 he purchased the Neos cigars and TAF factories respectively. This gave them the J Cortès brand. 

Less than 10 years later in 1986 they opened their own bobbin factory in Sri Lanka and moved their headquarters to Zwevegem-Moen in Belgium. At this point they employed nearly 2000 people and sold to over 80 countries. 

In 2005 Guido's son Frederik joined the firm and in 2016 he orchestrated the purchase of artisianal cigar company, Oliva cigars based in the US and Nicaragua.

And in 2025 they began the build of new iconic headquarters near Deerlijk, Belgium, which is scheduled to open in 2027. 

Whilst VCF has grown, it remains firmly rooted in the craft of cigar making. 

Processing of the tobacco begins in the factory in Sri Lanka, where the carefully selected tobacco leaves are stored, before being humidified and then sorted. The J Cortès cigars are produced and packed here. 

J. Cortès is one of the most iconic cigar brands in the VCF portfolio. Made from 100% carefully selected tobacco, J. Cortès cigars are known for their soft draw, rounded character and perfectly balanced aroma. They appeal to both casual smokers and experienced enthusiasts.
 

The cigars are presented in distinctive blue tins or cardboard boxes and are available in several well-established ranges, each with its own origin and identity.

The tobacco for Neos cigars is stored at the factory in Sri Lanka. It is then processed on to bobbins, deep frozen and then transported by sea and road to the factory in Handzame, Belgium. Every morning various batches of leaves are defrosted and the Neos cigars are rolled and produced. The Neos cigars are then sent to the warehouse at Zwevegem where they get packed, labelled, stamped for tax purposes and distributed all over the world.
